End of tenancy cleaning in Islington, London
London Borough of Islington
The London Borough of Islington is a London borough in Inner London. It was formed in 1965 by merging the former metropolitan boroughs of Islington and Finsbury. The borough contains two Westminster parliamentary constituencies, Islington North and Islington South & Finsbury. Islington has a wide variety of transportation services, with direct connections to the suburbs and the City and West End. Islington also has over 8 tube stations with connections by the tube to all around London.
Islington District
Islington grew as a sprawling Middlesex village along the line of the Great North Road, and has provided the name of the modern borough. This gave rise to some confusion, as neighbouring districts may also be said to be in Islington. Some development took place to accommodate the popularity of nearby Sadler’s Wells , which became a resort in the 16th century, but the 19th century saw the greatest expansion in housing, soon to cover the whole parish.
Angel, Islington
The Angel was originally an inn near a toll gate on the Great North Road. The corner itself was in the parish of Clerkenwell which was part of the Metropolitan Borough of Finsbury until it was merged with the Metropolitan Borough of Islington to form the London Borough of Islington in 1965. The Angel Hotel, situated at the junction of Pentonville Road, City Road, Upper Street and St John Street, was purchased by Lyons in 1921 and opened as the Angel Cafe Restaurant on 21 February 1922.
